ABOUT TONIGHT'S FILM

This week’s screening is a 1970 French musical fairy tale directed by Jacques Demy, famous for his colourful approach to filmmaking. Teaming up again with composer Michel Legrand, Demy adapts a story that traces its roots back to folklore.

At the centre is a princess confronted with a deeply uncomfortable marriage proposal. Caught between duty and fear, she searches for a way out and eventually seeks guidance from her fairy godmother.

Somewhere between weird 1970ies experiment and whimsy fairy tale – Demy delivers unique experience.

ABOUT THE FILM CLUB

The FILM CLUB has been hosting film screenings inside the GARAGE for as long as the building has stood.

Every Wednesday, the group of film lovers transforms the concert hall into a veritable cinema and shows some of the very best (and sometimes rare) films from around the world.

The theme changes continuously, and this time it is all about Christmas! Or is it? Confused? Then attend the screening!The title of the event is only a hint about the day's movie, because we must not reveal the real one.

So prepare to be surprised, excited, provoked and enriched.THE FILM CLUB wants to invite both Danish-speaking and English-speaking city dwellers. Therefore the subtitles of the film screenings are always in English, just as THE FILM CLUB will initially give a short introduction in English.

As standard, we open the doors at 19.00 and begin the screening at 19.30.
